NZ Match Race Championships 2019

We started the regatta strong getting a good number of wins on the board for day one.

"Megan Thomson and her RNZYS YTP 2.0 Racing Team are the best of the two all-female teams, sailing well today to record three wins from five races, with Celia Willison’s RNZYS Performance Programme Edge Women’s Match Team only recording one win out of five races."

As the regatta went on the experience of our competitors began to show and cracks in our performance came to light. Each race was close and involved a number of "if only" moments, as Match Racing often does. Despite not making the final series, we're still stoked with the way we sailed, particularly with the calibre of our competitors. The 2.0 girls are in high spirits after many tight races against some tough competition. The NZMRC has been a great warm up event for next week where we head to Shanghai to compete in our first Women's International Match Racing Series Event. We can't wait!!
