Trying to find our feet again! 4th Place

After 3 days of racing we’re stoked to have wrapped up the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS)Harken New Zealand Match Race Championship in 4th place! Day one of the event highlighted the effect of time off the water in 2021 as a result of numerous lockdowns. However, on day two we felt like we began to find our feet again, making less mistakes and finding great modes around the course.

Day three was an exciting filled day with petite finals along with the open and women’s finals! We were stoked to claim 1st place women’s team for this event and get to watch an exciting final between KNOTS racing and Reuben Corbett’s team with the NZMRC title coming down to a matter of inches! The weekend was a fitting send off for Serena Woodall who is off to compete in the Youth Foiling Gold Cup as part of the New Zealand team. We look forward to following her racing and cheering her on from home! Thanks to the volunteers, the Umpires, Race Committee and the RNZYS for making this event happen and congrats to KNOTS on the big win!
